Once again, my friend Mary Lou has super powers as she was able to entice me out (entire family in tow after church) for this event hosted by my friend Dr. G. at Quattros in Guilford on Sunday, August 7. I love the name of this event! I met some new people: Barry Reis on drums and trumpet, Dave Daddario on bass, and Jake Epstein on saxophone. A simply lovely way to spend a lunch, listening to their version of jazz.

I was completely entertained the entire time with Barry’s rig: a snare, a high hat, a ride (maybe), a trumpet alternately stashed in the corner and played, and a glass of water perched atop the snare which, upon being empty, he would use as a mute for his trumpet.

All I had on my was my phone camera which is providing the extra grit for these photos.
